Catherine Lussier, M.A., Ph.D (Montreal)

Catherine Lussier is the CS/RESORS Consulting senior associate in Montréal. She is drawn upon for consultation on all Québec-based work. She also conducts the field work for projects with a Québec component, and/or supervises any other local research assistants working on projects for us there. She is bi-lingual in French and English, and also is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Lussier is a very experienced researcher. Her doctorate is in Anthropology and her extensive work in the field has made her a particularly adept and flexible field researcher, no matter what the topic being studied. For example, she has been a core team member in our evaluation of the land management program of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, of the Women's Program of Secretary of State, a study of federal job training programs for social assistance recipients, and a market assessment of the potential for cost recovery for federal occupational and environmental health services.

Dr. Lussier has well-established networks in the French and English research and academic communities in Montréal, which further extends the CS/RESORS capacity there. As well, she has worked extensively in Québec media and was employed for a number of years as a researcher and interviewer for the Radio-Québec television series `Planète'.

Because of her academic and cultural interests, Dr. Lussier has been actively involved in the Latin American community for some 15 years. She has worked in study groups of Chilean and Salvadorian refugees, and in Latin American cultural and political groups in Montréal. She continues to maintain her contacts with the Latin media community there, as well.
