Karen Stierhoff, M.A., Ph.D. (Psychology)

Karen Stierhoff is a senior principal of CS/RESORS Consulting, working from the Vancouver office. She specializes in program evaluation, both as a practitioner and in the development of the field as a profession. She served two terms as president of the British Columbia chapter of the Canadian Evaluation Society. Prior to joining CS/RESORS Consulting, Dr. Stierhoff was a senior staff member for a large national consulting firm, and she has worked as an independent consultant as well.

As one of the principals of CS/RESORS Consulting, Dr. Stierhoff works very closely with Dr. Stephenson in guiding the company's development. A major part of her responsibilities includes management of projects in her particular interest areas. This entails supervising all aspects of research design and implementation, supervision of staff, and cost and quality control.

Dr. Stierhoff's experience in program evaluation and needs assessment has been very broad, but there is a concentration in alcohol and drug prevention and treatment programming and programming for persons with disabilities. Her training includes a strong statistical component, which is an excellent complement to the qualitative research and analysis skills of Dr. Stephenson.
