Training and Workshops

Training and workshops are a specialty of CS/RESORS, through the skills of Marylee Stephenson, M.A., Ph.D. the firm’s president. She has developed two of her own training options.  The two established training options are Working Your Way Through Program Evaluation and Creating RFPs That Work!! (Requests for Proposals). Each of these workshops is adapted to the needs of the client. The highlights can be compressesd into half a day, or the content and delivery can be adapted for a one-day or two-day session. Clients include government and non-profit sector organizations.

The training for both topics is delivered in a very interactive style, using one or two of the participant’s organization as the “case study” material for the workshop as a whole. The longer the time allocated for the training, the greater the depth that becomes possible.

Participants are given a “handbook” of the material covered, a glossary of terms, and an invaluable bibliography of key references.

Dr. Stephenson also has been selected on a competitive basis to deliver the Essential Skills Series of the Canadian Evaluation Society on Program Evaluation. She has taught a 4th year university course on Research Methods and Program Evaluation.

Because of the breadth of her background in social policy as well as program evaluation, Dr. Stephenson also delivers workshops on other topics. Because she is a skilled standup comic and story-teller, these skills are brought to bear to enliven any training, and to respond to a variety of workshop needs. Typical of this is a workshop she designed and delivered with young single mothers, assisting them in building self-esteem and increasing their capacities for social networking and reducing their sense of isolation.
